I just brought a Autometer Oil Press Gauge and the readings is in PSI. I think that a engine in good condition must work in 2,5 - 3,0 bar when it is warm ,what must be the readings in psi ?

A rule of thumb is to multiply by 15.

The more exact number is 14.7 I think....

so 2.5 bar = 37(ish) PSI
and 3 bar = 45(ish) PSI

My gauge seems to read between 37.5 and 75 depending on what I'm doing when the car's warm. It's still surviving, so I suppose it can't be that ill...

I finally got mine fitted today

Would I be right in thinking that when I first start the car, the gauge goes straight up to 100psi

Then once warmed up it drops to a more sedate 50 psi, If I then boot it, it goes up, near the 100psi mark

then on tickover back to about 50

I take it its doing this, until it gets warmed up properly, then the readings make sense

Also I read on the scoobymods site that anywhere between 25 and 75 PSI is normal

Sonic, what took you so long??

Sounds OK to me. Mine doesn't quite get to 100 PSI on startup, but gets extremely close. If also drops back to a little less than yours does when it's warm. Sounds like they do the same sorts of thing though.

I'm putting the differences down to different oils (and different oil levels as well) and to a small degree different measurement errors.

LOL dnb

I know, its took so long, cos I was waiting for my adaptors from Think Automotive, as they sent the wrong bit out, and it took several phone calls to get them to finally send out the right part, and the last week or so I been building a conservatory, and yesterday was Downpipe Fitting

My Oil Pressure gauge is furthest away from me, so unless I jump in the passenger seat, its a rough approximation of the reading, and not an accurate one (if you know what I mean)

As yours is the same (or similar to mine) then it must be a feature of the Autometer Gauges, still finally glad its all wired up

Cheers

Steve

Is ther a way of testing the sender unit? What should it read if I put a volt meter across it? Mine hasn't worked for some time now and I dont know if the sender or gauge is faulty?
