Dawes on STI7 Good or bad Idea?

I don't know what boost yours runs at. Fitting a Dawes can be very good except that you really need a boost gauge, Knocklink, and afr meter to be safe. The Dawes helps the turbo to spin up more quickly at the lower rpm but you could easily overboost and get detonation without the indicators I mentioned. I fitted a Dawes and set it to run below fuel cut. The car feels livelier especially at the lowers revs. But I can see if I was going to get detonation or run a weak mixture which is important. From what I read, if you have PPP fitted you could easily induce detonation with a Dawes due to advanced ignition.

Unless your boost is spiking and you need to control it I would be very careful.
Although the dawes device is an excellent piece of kit, and makes a substantial difference to some models of Impreza, there are much safer ways of increasing boost on the STi7.
