Has anyone changed the inlet pipe into the turbo to a bigger bore using silocon hoses but not using the pre formed Samco type? What did you do with the few pipes which connected up to the orginal inlet pipe? Ive relocated the power steering so should be no problem getting pipes in, just that im not too keen on paying the price of samco pre formed peice.

If you vent the Breathers to a catch tank all you really need is the dump valve return (unless you have atmospheric dump valve) and the pipe for the ISCV.

Wink

I made my own turbo inlet with the help of ^^^^^^^^^^^

I no longer have any pipes connected to the inlet apart from the 2 you see in the picture above. (ISCV and soleniod)
I removed the metal OE pipe that used to carry the crankcase, rocker cover and dump valve vents.
The crankcase breather now vents to a catch tank, and the rockers VTA at the bottom of the engine.

Do a search on catch tanks and turbo inlet.

I still have to get the car re-mapped after changing a few things, so I won't get the true benifits till then, but even then, it will be more of a collective result.

I had the pre formed Samco hose on before this, and sold it to partly fund the inlet in the picture and the parallel fuel rail mod.

I only have the dump valve returning into my inlet pipe creation, the ISCV has a nice breather filter fitted now...works fine, if a little noisily

Pictures far better than words on this:

Hi Tim,

First time I've seen the small filter being used for the ISCV.
Have you got a part number for the filter?
What is it used for originaly, a carb?

J/ it may look like a bit of a heap but it goes very well...and usually unoticed

Scoty, don't have a part number to hand, but the small filter is usually used as an oil breather vent, I think it was a 19mm neck, but it would be best to measure the neck of the ISCV inlet. Eiterh way K&N offer 3 sizes (13, 16 and 19mm according to page 189 of the Motorsport Demon Tweeks Catalogue) all priced at 15:18 GBP plus VAT and delivery

Are there any downsides to venting the ISCV to atmosphere, with the use of a breather filter?

Already catch tanked the rocker cover breathers and crankcase breather, and i was thinking of making up my own inlet pipe like the one above.

Any part numbers for the samco elbow and straight section?? or diameters etc?

Cheers

I happen to have one in my office (don't ask why). The 19mm one which I believe is that used for the ISCV has a part number on it of F006A4. Don't know if that helps.

Iian, no idea about advantages/disadvantages, but Pat ran an ISCV set up like I am now for a couple of years without issue as I understand it.

Elbow wise mine's a 76mm diameter 90 degree elbow, and a 76 to 51mm straight reducer, linking them together is a peipes of 76mm OD stainless pipe with a 30 (check with your dump valve return pipe as I'm not exactly sure) mm dia T welded on for the dump valve return.

no disadvantages if you dont run MAF..

the oem setup draws the air after the MAF.. so the air is metered..
