Ok hypothetical question, currently have a STiV with full de-cat & K&N 57i fitted, shortly im considering having a Tek3 re-map, question is once you've had this done, if i then go ahead with further mods what effect will this have on the original re-maps effectivity, or do you just go as far down the road with tuning as you want then have the re-map, just trying to find out whether a this point of mild tune am i going to be wasting my money with a re-map or better waiting till later??

Hi Andy

The map will need tweaking to suit any alterations that you make, after the initial mapping. Many companies, mine included, allow you a free tweak map after the initial installation.

It is important not to go bolting things on after a car has been optimised with a custom re-map. Your mapper will be able to advise on suitable future mods and the gains that these will give.

Cool

Hey got an STiV myself in same kind of condition, except not fully decat'ed and a Blitz SuS instead of your K&N. I was thinking the next steps would be fully decat'ed, uprated fuel pump and injectors and then a re-mapping at this point - should take the StiV up to about 350bhp

Andy - yeah long term plan and keep my eye open for 2nd hand bits and pieces. Why the need for the knocklink m8? breathing too quick?? Plan decat after next MOT which is Oct/Nov time. Looking for 550cc injectors and rated fuel pump.

Opps missed your question Andy.

Just add an uprated fuel pump and your car will map up very nicely, with a good safety margin.

Question

Pete - just adding the fuel pump. Is that because the breathing is sorted out and existing 440cc injectors fine?
