Paranoia setting in maybe, but every few months I check mpg over 3 or so tankfuls. Local running around has always given about 22-23 mpg, but when I checked last week this had risen to 26 mpg. Could this be a sign of a failing MAF - ie engine starting to run lean?

Any easy check - should I do an ECU reset and see if idle goes to pot. Car currently idles rock solid, but I have noticed a slight hesitancy at lower revs even when warm, which I'm sure it didn't used to do.

BTW, car is MY00 with 25k miles.

Ta

I get somewhere between 17mpg (spirited driving) and 30mpg (grandad motorway driving)

I average between 22-26mpg most of the time tho, I check with every tank
