From: North Yorks, MY03 PPP, now run a Mondeo ST TDCI 06
I think most will advise a Tek3 ECU upgrade and aftermarket exhaust, more power for less cash.
Most people go fo PPP as you keep the warranty, not relevant on a MY98.

Unfortunately as your car is an MY98 you cant have an ecutek
(my99 onwards).
The options open to you are:-
1. PPP
2. Link ecu.
I think that as your out of warranty the link ecu will be a better buy (plus an exhaust etc
) for the money.

Ah, so probably better, and cheaper not going for the ppp then.
So whats going to be the difference from a Link ECU and the Unichip ?
You have to excuse that i dont know much.

The link is around 1000 quid but removes your maf sensor, its also a safer bet on your car.
No doubt someone will give you all the info on both
but you could try a search as these chips were the "in thing" before ecutek and the likes
