Finally got around to having my AP Organic clutch kit fitted today
Was told the flywheel had a few tiny surface cracks, so it needed to be skimmed. Fine I thought, but when I picked the car up, the clutch pedal now bites about half an inch from the floor, and is difficult to engage gears. Also when taking up drive, and pulling away, It suffers the dreaded judder (didn't do it before)
Any suggestions??? I personally think it needs a new flywheel??
Does it need a few miles to bed in??

What concerns me more than anything is the biting point!
I cannot see why this has changed? Very disappointed as I only bought this kit to cure slip, but the original was far easier to live with!
Will bleeding it better the pedal problem?

You may be able to adjust the bite point by re-adjusting the threaded rod that takes the pedal action to the master cylinder.
As for the judder, that's down to the quality of the flywheel skim.

Pickle, i had the same experiecne when i had my AP clutch fitted last year.
It was like as soon as lifted my foot the clutch started to bite.
Spoke with the service manager and he said it was normal as the clutch needs to bed in.
After a week or so it was fine so dont worry to much.
If anything ring your dealer and tell them but leave a week or so and it should start getting better.
Mel.

Sounds like it was not adjusted to suit your new clutch.
The adjustment is in the pedal assembly, this is the correct setup:
There is a bolt at the top of the pedal assembly to adjust the pedal height, it should be 145mm from the pedal rubber to the floor, you will need two 14mm spanners.
Behind the pedal is a rod that joins the pedal assy to the master cylinder, undo the locknut on it 12mm spanner and turn the rod with the flats on it with a 6mm spanner to achieve 10-15mm freeplay at the pedal rubber.

I had major juddering when i had my AP clutch kit fitted. It turned out the supplier had put the wrong clutch plate in the kit, it wasnt even AP! It had to be done again with the correct parts.
