I was/am hoping its something new to add to my WRX PPP - there was a thread a bit ago talking about a PPP Stage 2 (the need for it rather than it already existing), perhaps this would form a good basis for something like that.
A bit more power from the std PPP'ed WRX but still in warranty would be good (my fingers are crossed).
Any idea's who at Prodrive would be good to speak to about this?

Hello. I was told by Prodrive that they can supply me with a down-pipe
incorporating a high performance catalyst as well as a flexible
up-pipe with no catalyst. They claim that this should take my 01MY WRX with PPP up to around 275Bhp.
What do you think? :-/

do they offer this for the STi7 ??
What about the warranty ? ( I gues this is a prodrive mod, not a recognised Subaru UK mod).

I think its that all important statement, if true, about keeping the warranty.
The PPP is probably over priced compared to alternative equivalent tuning options but you keep the warranty - probably helps a bit on resale value as well.
I do quite a lot of miles a year in my Scooby so the warranty is very important to me but I'm bitten by the modding bug so this might be ab option (once I've saved up!).
275bhp with warranty sounds quite good so I just need to raid that money tree in the garden...if only.

So, who sells this up/downpip. Can I go to my local Subaru dealer and order it ?
Does it definately retain my warranty. I guess my PPP'd ECU will cope with the extra boost the downpipe will give me....
Is the WRX version the same as the STi version ?

Mark,
You have a Prodrive downpipe already (PPP sports cat), and the STi uppipes are already catless so not too much to gain from changing it.
ScoobySport claim another 10bhp or so if you change the uppipe on a de-cat STi7, similar power on a PPP maybe, but then you have to watch out for overboost and say goodbye to your warranty.
I'm not aware of a MY01/02 Prodrive up/downpipe and both bits are certainly not part of the UK WRX PPP, it's either bad information or something that Prodrive do for another territory outside of the UK.

Lefos as far as I know Prodrive's catted downpipe is the same they sell with STI7-8 PPP.
If you see HERE Prodrive has some PPP tuning stages available for overseas customers and I believe this is the "kit" they reffered to.
You can also buy catted aftermarket up/downpipe (AFAIK GGR & Scoobyworld sell them) with similar if not better results due to open neck design downpipes.
It's up to you and you don't loose your warranty in every case if you fit them here in "your" service, right?

Big Goon,
On the Prodrive site under the PPP for MY02 STi, it say high flow sports cat + back box + ecu.
Is the high flow sports cat the same as the downpipe, as there is no specific mention of the downpipe......

Anyone care to bet whether the "prodrive" up-pipe for WRX is just a standard STi7 up-pipe? Would still give more power as it's not catted. Fairly sure the downpipe will be the STi7 PPP part. That way, you get more power from the WRX using parts that they already have.
Mark - in the case of the STi7 PPP, the high flow cat is part of the replacement downpipe, yes.
There have been several people with a PPP's WRX who have gone for a full decat and got somewhere aroun 275-280bhp (say at PE, anyway), so I would expect their power claims are about realistic.
