Thanks, I found those, too, but I'm looking for the other series of newer turbos with individual maps for each turbo.

There are scanned photocopies of the VF23 and 22 compressor maps floating about, not seen any other IHI maps available publically.

Nothing for VF30 that I've found. Everyone is also looking for 18G maps - apparently there is a guy who lives at one mile altitude getting 18 PSI at 3500 RPM yet it flows 600 CFM.

Cool

I hope Everyone has more luck than I did when I was looking for one. Pavlo claimed to have seen one though.

PS: I wouldn't suggest you bother with an 18G John, after all, according to Andy F, you cannot fit a decent sized compressor housing onto the 18G wheel. Probably best to stick with the 20G.

Is yours in the 05H cover? Can't see why it shouldn't be able to reasonably support a wheel that flows 80 CFM more than a 16G small?

Andy F states that the 18G is designed for the 05 cover and so a larger cover would be too big for it. So that means that I must have an 05 cover. It could not be any other way. Could it?

Out of curiosity, what's the largest outside diameter on the compressor housing inlet of a factory front entry TD05 cover?

Garrett are always mixing wheels and covers. Given the most compressors are designed with similar goals (ie IC engine) I don't see the problem with mixing and matching covers.

Evo uses a TD05 (well the 5's & 6's from memory

TME's use a different turbo.

Trouble with an Evo turbo is to be difficult it spools the wrong way!!!!

From Evo III, compressor wheel diameter has been 68mm (was 60mm before).

Ref is TD05HR-16G6 for std, TD05HRA-16G6 with titanium turbine wheel (TME and RS versions from VI)

From III again, turbine nozzle area has been increased from 7cm2 to 9cm2 (IV) then 10.5cm2 (V and VI) and finaly reduced to 9.8cm2 on the VII (Ref is then TD05HR-16G6-9.8T)...

Hope this helps

Gérald

Cool

Thanks for the info , but its not quite what I was asking for.

I was after the outer diameter of the compressor housing inlet duct, that is to say, the bit that dictates the size of the inlet hose, if you see what I mean.

I am interested to know the largest such diameter that appears on a standard factory front entry TD05 compressor cover.

Moray

Can't answer what is the largest inlet diameter for TD05 but on my own it's 63mm to suit my inlet pipe.

I don't see why you can't get bigger if necessary (within reason)

AlanG,

I am just trying to find out what the largest one is on a standard, unmolested, factory front entry TD05 cover.

Ahh.. I take it you mean like what's on an EVO since i believe Subaru only used a 90 degree inlet?

If the diameter of the 90 degree inlet is any use i can give you the dimension tomorrow.

Thanks Alan, but I am really only after the maximum inlet OD dimension of the largest available standard front entry 05 cover in its original, as it left the factory, state.

Moray,

Just so that you can compare you piddley little cover, to the TD06/20G, the TD06 has a 60mm OD, 5mm bigger than the VF turbo's, 40mm smaller than 1 or 2 Garretts I know of.

Mark.

Thanks Mark, that's pretty much what I was after.

Seems my piddly little cover is at least a couple of millimeters off the TD06/20G cover's inlet dimension then. Oh well. At least it sounds nice.
