STI gearbox--screaming at motorway speed ==true/false??

Just managed to get an sti box for my car, and have been told that at motorway speeds the box will be screaming its nuts off, the old WRX box is quite quiet, is this true??
the cars a classic 95 wrx.
what will the box change....0-60times top end......what can i expect???

STI has slightly shorter diff, 4.44, instead of the wrx 4.11.
Not sure about the actual 5th gear ratio, but it shouldnt be too bad.
If you have the gearbox, you will also need the matching rear diff.

It will obviously rev higher than your WRX box but i wouldnt say it will be screaming its nuts off (unless it was the ultra close box off some RA's). I drive a Type R and dont find it a problem whatsoever.

Speak to Rally Colin at Thames Valley Motorsport
He will build your own box to match whatever diffs are in your car. He sorted me out, he built me an STi 4 box up to fit straight into my UK98 car, so I had the stronger gears without the motorway screams
