Damn this is all complicated, I've finally got the cash and time to get a complete scoobysport system on and now I hear that the noise is really really loud, is there a way of getting the power but keeping the noise levels down? I'm thinking along the lines of a centre section with a resonator? I hear the magnex one does the trick?

There's a quieter scoobysport one. Or, at least, there used to be one...

It's very tricky with exhausts & noise level! Everyone has different ideas about what noisy is - to some, quiet is not having to shout at the passenger above 60mph. I'm rather at the other end of the scale meself, and I found the full scoobysport (but this is not the current one, but I believe fairly similar) to be very noisy - I would get a headache on a motorway in 20 minutes or so. Others find it a 'good compromise between flow & noise level'. It's a tricky one! Best is to find someone else who has it & give it a listen!

I had a 4" magnex system on my old RS Turbo, that was loud, although I'm guessing the impreza will make a hell of a noise once decatted!

Originally there were four quiet one, 88db, 99db & 109db (too loud).

Though customers required a quiet cruising backbox so thats what we had our new guys from Janspeed develop.

This has now replaced the whole range that we used to do, and I have to say that it is a real joy.....

After running with 109db exhaust and getting reported for excessive noise from my neighbours, the local constabulary had a few words and were now cracking down on loud exhausts in my local area.

Definition of loud was down to the individual policeman stopping the car, and again the police have sat outside a garage waiting to noise test loud exhausts.

Since the normal backbox has gone back on - no worries

(This is not a thread for responses about the police handling situations or criticism etc)

I spoke to you on the phone just now, as I said, i'll get the system running on new down and centre parts using my old style back box and see how it goes, if its bad i'll save up for a new style back box!
