Exhaust emmision sensor gone on MY01

The exhaust emmision sensor has gone on my MY01. Is this a rare thing to occure and what would have caused it?

I think I can add at least two more to the list Stephen (including me). I reckon there must be a faulty batch. How old is your car Mr M - mileage etc?

mine broke down , others i am aware of had check light on and ran badly, 3 no mods 2 decats steve

I run mine with a decatted exhaust and it keeps burning out the temperature sensor is that the same as this emmision sensor? and if so do they know what the milage is between the light coming on and the car breaking down? The last time it was around 3000 miles when it went!Spoke to prodrive who dont have a answer for the problem!

Same thing, it measure exhaust gas temperatures. Presumably the temperature has to be just right for the cat to work efficiently.
