My MY00 turbo feels hesitant every so often, even when I'm in the turbo range it can stutter a little bit before flying off into the distance!

Is this a known problem?

My 02 model does it and it's starting to annoy me now. Back to the dealer soon I think.

VERY well known - its a design feature of the MY00 - NOT a fault!! You learn to drive around it

Its better in the warmer weather and with quality high octane petrol!!

Put cheap supermarket UL petrol in, throw into the mix a cold morning and you will be Hop-Skipping all the way home!!

Thumbs up

Try the patented 'Floyd/Babber' ECU swap. Get the crappy AE802 removed and slap in an AE800 or AE801 -- tada, problemo solved!

Looks like Optimax will have to be tried. I'll have to think ahead as my nearest Shell is 20 miles away - next to work.

As for the ECU advice, I guess they wont swap it on warranty.

As i have said in other threads on this subject ,,, Subaru went abit over the top on the EU emmissions regs , and the ECU on the MY00 has suffered from this ,,,
Mine is being done under warrenty very soon , i even called IM themselfs and they said yes , we recognise this problem , and will replace the ECU under warrenty for sir ,,
My dealer said its a well documented problem with the MY00 scoob

My advice get it in asap for a completly new ECU

same problem here on a MY00, sometimes its fine other times put my foot to the board and nothings there, seems to have improved after my dealer said it was down to dirty fuel so a new fuel pump was needed but it has started up again

I have this problem too, have only had the car a couple of months, starting to annoy me know, stick you foot down and nothing much happens, what would be the best approach to getting this sorted.

As stated above - an AE800 or AE801 ECU will transform your car

More info can be found on www.ecutek.co.uk (look under tuning - original ECU comparison).

Cheers,

Ian.

Hmm I have an MY00 and mine seems a little slower recently although I thought it was me just getting used to the car. Gonna have to check what ecu version Ive got and compare it to that Ecutek site.

I have the same problem on my MY00 and switched ECUs twice. Once to AE801 and then Tek2.5 and yes, she still hesitates like hell at 3000 RPM every day. Full decat plus optimax. There are other potential causes involved methinks!

Jerome - have you had your boost solenoid cleaned ?
Tried new spark plugs ?

I'm going to get both done at my next service in 3000km time.
