Hi All,
Within the last week my car has started to jump out of 5th gear - I have only noticed it on the motorway and it appears to be after I lift off. When I go to put the power back on, it just revs highly until I engage the gear again. Its happened quite a number of times now and I am starting to worry...
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?
The warranty expires in a month - so I have to get it sorted soon!
Thanks,
James.

There's a bolt in the gearbox that sometimes works loose. It's a known problem, but requires the gearbox to be rebuilt. Get it sorted before the warranty expires.
My old MY00 had it and the car was away for 2 days while they did it.

I've just spoken to Lancaster Pangnbourne. They said basically it would need a 5th gear modification, by that they meant it had to be replaced!
Mine is also a MY00.

Just to confirm - took it along to Lancaster's yesterday - was worried that they wouldn't be able to spot the problem as it only happened once on the way up there (80 miles). But one of the guys there took it out for a spin and instantly found the problem. It is now booked in to have a new 5th gear.
To test, put it in 5th at a relatively low speed (30-40) and accelerate hard for a short while, then lift off and accelerate again... drops straight into neutral if there is a problem.
Cheers,
James.
