Question

ok ,not a major problem but needs sorting.

my 99 uk wagon,

accelerating upto 70+ the car feels as if it is "pulsing".!?
you can even hear my atmos dv pulsing as well,,,as if i am lifting my foot off the pedal and putting it back on again in short intervals..
somtimes i can even feel it pulsing when i drive slowly .

very weird.
any ideas,,i am stummped on this one?????
cheers

no ideas then????
i thought it would have you stummped, hehehehe
i honestly cant see why it is doing this,it is as if the turbo is winding up but pulsing .
i cant see any pipes loose or off,or even hear any air leaks.
would the dump valve cause a problem lke this????
ideas greatly appreciated,
cheers

yes that it but cant help you much more.

i have the same problem you describe, and also have a boost guage fitted which shows its the boost that makes the car surge.

was told to clean the solenoid, but was also told that my vta dump valve could be causing this problem.

getting the dv checked out this saturday so will know more then.

i doudt it if the dv is the problem,
i had a re-circ forge dv with red spring in it when i noticed the pulsing,,
last week i changed the dv for a forge atmos with a blue spring and it has made no difference apart from the sound of the dv is louder.
it may be the solenoid.
i will have a look tommorow,if i cant strip it down i will fit a replacement(lucky enough to know a man that breaks subaru's).

i will let you know
thanks for the info,

roy
