Got my 37.5K service coming early this year. Dont trust my Subaru dealer to use the right oil. Silkolene PRO-S10W/50 Fully Synth seems fairly well received. Anyone know the cheapest place to get this from - IIRC u need 5 litres for a complete drain and change. Alyn (as in performance ) - u said u do good deals?

4.5 litres is what you need. Castrol RS 10W 60 is excellent value. See scoobyshop.

Hmm Scoobyshop discounted price £35 (Silkolene PRO-R). First place I check sells it for £31 all in. Wonder where I will be buying it from.

Anyone know which is better - PRO-S or PRO-R. Description says PRO-S is fully synth for all performance engines, whilst PRO-R is Ester synthetic oil for all racing engines including turbo charged.

Peronally I'd only use one of these two, the general consencus is that these are the best oils available atm.

Castrol RS10/60 (Which I use now - I change oil & filter every 2.5-3k)

or

Motul M300V 15-50

Hmmm is that £21 for 4 litres of Castrol RS correct in Scoobyshop? Seems pretty cheap.

Agree with TB, and don't be put off by the price. I just bought 20 litres of it.

DBM - why no comment on Silkolene. If they have a bad rep Id like to know seeing as Scoobysport and TSL use them for their own servicing and both reccomend it on their websites?
