Yesterday I had fitted to my STi7 a Scooby Sport Up-pipe, a 3 inch MRT system with High flow cat and resonator. After fitting we put it on a Rolling Road at DIMSport to test the results.
First of all a huge Thanks and "Thumbs Up" to the guys at Scooby Sport Switzerland especially Yven who lent me his "slightly modded" STi7 for a taste of what these cars are capable of ( and how damned loud they are with no back seat or carpet). The guys are friendly and the service was great.
Once fitted the guys took it out to check for boost spikes ( none, which was later confirmed on the rolling road ) and they also did an emission test which it passed without a problem. Sound is a perfect mix between the boxer note and "liveability", ie, not too loud. Driving it is when you realise how restrictive the original up-pipe and Exhaust are. Boost feels to comes on around 2800 rpm and it revs much more freely and pulls strongly into the red. Turbo lag is also reduced considerably with the car feeling much more responsive. Around town is much, MUCH better.
Results on the Rolling Road were done after a 15 minute drive (so no idea if the computer was still learning, or even if it needs to)
Car is standard otherwise, 15 degrees temp, 1100 meters above sea level, 904mbar, 98 octane petrol ( measured to DIN 70020 ).
232Kw at 6400rpm (312 Hp)
374Nm Torque at 4400 rpm.
Edited cause I put the wrong power figures due to my understanding of German being as good as my understanding of women. Bit embarrassing to have your girlfriend tell you what your rolling road graph means...

Hi Swaussie,
Just seen your plot (comparison with Yven's) - looks nice...especially at 1100 mtrs above

Dowser,
The plot does look fairly smooth but the real truth is in how much better the car is to drive. I am looking forward to summer when the passes are open again.

The hesitations have gone now.
Went back and saw Pat who with a few tweaks here and there removed the hesitation.
Just fixed a boost gauge on it to keep an eye on whats happening, and was very worried at first with reports of 1.8 - 2.0 bar, rang Pat who put me right, I was reading PSI..

JDM STi 7 has 276 bhp??
When I bought my JDM a few months ago, most Importers told me the official figures for the STi 7 or EVO 7 was 276bhp, but in reality they put out 310 and 305 respectively. Oh yeah sure!!
But there was a definite difference driving a UK model then a JDM, but I was still sceptical of these figures.
After the car was run-in, and about 3000 miles on the clock, it went to a SIDC rolling road day. But they had problems with the car trying to jump out of the rollers, but it still put out 296.5 bhp.
A month later, different rollers, and it put out 316bhp with a clean run - totally standard. In the afternoon and having just fitted an HKS drager exhaust it then put out 331.5bhp.
No other mods.

You can't be serious ???? Not that I don't believe you but it sounds unreal.....100% stock over 300 bhp and after zorst over 310 bhp ? What were the torque figures ???
Any other JDM STi-7 owners with similar results ?
Cheers,
Ray

Razor,
The guy who did the RR on mine was talking about there being two measures of Power. One is the DIN 70020- Deutsch Industrie Norm - (the german standard) which is used by most racing teams and it always gives better figures than the new ISO standard which has a different calibration. The Japanese actually have their own standard as well but I cant find any info on this, so I dont know how it compares.

Heres the difference between the two
DIN 70020 corrects the temperature and pressure to 20C and 1013mb.
ISO 3046 corrects the temperature and pressure to 25C and 1000mb.
