Shortshift ?

I'm considering to place a genuine STI shortshift on my scoob, but not everybody who bought it is happy with it.
Its supposed to shorten the geartrow, but also stiffen things up, what should I do...some people says its actually more difficult to select a gear at high revs with the shortshift ...

As soon as you shorten the throw the shift becomes stiffer!
I have made and modified a couple of quick shifts but eventualy found the best result was from shortening the original gearstick,
just run a M12 die down the existing thread and cut the same amount again, then cut off the original thread and replace the **** job done.
This gives you a sporty shorter stick (original one is very long) and a shorter shift but very smooth.

yeah understand it, did the same thing with one of my previous cars : Opel Astra 16v, bloody hell those quickshifts, trashed my gearbox and finally came to the conclusion that shortening the trow is the best way,

Buy a J W Racing quickshift- a lot less money than the competitors, adjustable throw and a quality piece of kit

Yep
Belive me I have made so many different bits adjusting the pivot point to adjust the throw, but just shortening the stick it's self is the business.
