Link ECU (how many types?)
I saw on www pages two types. But Subaru turbo has 3 types of wiring (4-connector ecu - MY 95, 3- 96-98, 2- 99-00) Also STi and Std. Turbo U.K. wiring looms differs (rumours says switched signals from crankshaft and camshaft senzors).
Is the same link ECU for MY 97 UK turbo And STI 3?

Currently four types, Version 3 for MY92-96, Version 4 for MY97-98, Version 5 for My99-00 and 44S for My01/02, watch this space for the next iteration. All up to and including version 5 will run any model and have switchable outputs to accomodate Eurospec or JDM where necessary. The 44S is currently only able to run the WRX not the STi series however that will change.
STi 3 on MY97-98 ecu version 4 is fine, the Version 5 ecu can only drive a stepper motor idle valve and so you would need to change the inlet manifold assy complete oplus make several wiring loom changes.
Sorry, what is JDM?
------
I have now Sti 3 with PE phase 1 (piggyback comp). Where is limit of this technology (now I have 308bhp - looks good) against limits of Link ECU. Is easy to map Link myself (I have knowledges about motor management but not heavy experienced with mapping). I also heard about close loop which can help.
