My new hybrid td05

Cant tell you how much it is or what the model number will be, as Mark doesnt have a model number yet.. and I owe him some money, and he owes me some if I get this engine... so If you want one then ask him.

All I can say is the quality is 120%...

Better than I could have asked for.

At a guess, I would say the inlet has a 61mm outer diameter.

Whats the average cost of a Turbo Overhall/Upgrade? Id rather know now than torture myself by watching this thread develop.
Im not talking about the one above although I do have a TDO5, more just an idea of the cost in General ?

Andy,

The wheel has been especially chosen to suit Davids requirements (it's out of a Charade turbo

If it works well, I'll mail you some details, if it doesn't, we'll just have to use a crowbar, and squeeze a bigger one in.

Given the nature of the TD05, it should be a reasonable compromise between lag, and flow, but I did warn David about going too big.

We'll see

Mark.

Young lad's getting carried away, is he ? Nice hybrid though, all us TD05 owners are starting to think wicked thoughts....

Personally, I suspect it'll be too laggy for my liking, give me low down torque any day - that young Mr Wallis just wants to show off at Well Lane again !

PS Mark, when you've got a figure, let me know how much for it - but I'd need to know how you'd expect it to perform !

i'm not out for big bhp.. Im all torque..

If i dont hit 400 then Ill be upset..

If I go bang (on this engine) I wont care

if I get new engine in then I expect better.

I'd be interested in your rod/piston combination, David - I'm running an STI 1, which "allegedly" has the forged items, but even I'd be nervous running that sort of power through them.

I expect you've got enough bits in your garage to build 10 new engines, mate....

might as well post it...

im speaking to mark regarding a stroked 2ltr closed deck block, with forged pistons and lateral performance rods.. see scoobyshop for these... these ones will be different length due to being stroked..

Other than that the rest is a secret.. mail me for spec if you want

dont leave it to chance about std bits.. sell the working engine whilst you can.

Nice inlet work What actuator is on it?

I've just done similar, but left the internals standard for now. Fitting tomorrow - be nice to use more than .5 bar again after a month with my squealing 23

Thanks

Very nice David . I take it that the outer diameter of the inlet is 60mm so it'll accept the standard inlet piping form the post 97 cars (or the BPM and Samco items)..... i think it's 60mm as standard from memory????

Looking forward to the pics of this DIY project..... .

Tony.

David,

The turbo I've done for you, is known as "cute" in hybriding circles

Christians turbo would suck yours up, and spit it out :P

But then, his engine is just a tad bigger than yours
