Question

'ello all,

Anyone had negative experiences in having their block helicoiled?

should be fine.

It's also done on threads from new to strengthen them, paticularly in cast aluminium.

had it done in my old diesil astra after the garage tightened the injectors too much

was leaking diesil until they did put them in...

I take it you've had no problems to date? How long since the repairs?

We use them on the WRC Engines, so they must be quite good.

I gather that means they don't have a problem doing it to Impreza engines? Reason I ask is that one local dealer has mentioned a number of times they're concerned it will be a problem due to the location of the bolt holes. He claims the Helicoil guys that have checked the block are also uncertain of success.
