I've had my Rex on bricks for nearly 6 months and I'll be starting up again at Christmas.I propose to change the oil prior to starting ,then cranking up ; Isolating the HT of course. How long should I crank for ?

Hi Rob

Unplug the crank position sensor and crank for 10 seconds. This will get oil pressure up. Don't crank for longer than this as the starter motor will get hot.

Thumbs up

When it does fire up -- hold it at around 1500 rpm for a minute or so to make sure the oil's got everywhere. After that you should be good to go.

I would suggest dropping the oil & filter again after 500 miles or so, just in case any corrosion products etc have got around.
