Question

All Scooby owners, I have just bought my first Scooby a few weeks ago and when the engine is cold it makes a very clunky noise in the engine. It is only there first thing when the engine is cold and when it gets warm it dissapears.

Can someone tell me if this should be happening, why this is happening and if I should stop pulling my hair out or not.

Stu

welcome to Scoobynet and congrats on your purchase. If the sound goes away when warmed up, it could be parts getting lubricated...slowwwlly...so maybe an Oil change might help? try posting this in technical..

what Model and Model Year is it? Maybe the tappets filling or piston slap or probably nothing to worry about! Is it a UK car? Where did you buy it from? If its from a Subaru Dealer then take it straight back and get them to look at it.

Hi Stooby,
Welcome aboard. When posting technical queries it’s also helps to quote the model year of your car and any mods it may have.
Cheers.
Ian.

No mods yet.
It is a March 2000 model bought from a subaru dealer, 2.0 sport.
