Right, recently I bought a SS downpipe from a chap on this forum, after that a Subaru dealer offered to replace my downpipe and mid section for a catless scorpion - all free of charge for parts and fitting (let's just say they owed me a favour)
Question is - do I ask them to fit the SS downpipe with the Scorpion mid section or do I opt for complete scorpion and sell the SS (I already have a buyer). Must say the SS does look meatier than the Scorpion.
Any thoughts would be cool.

These are the combinations
1) Scoobysport downpipe - Std P1 mid - std p1 backbox
2) Scorpion down - Scorpion mid - std P1 bbox
3) Scoobysport downpipe - scorpion mid - std p1 bbox
4) Leave as it is now cat STI downpipe, mid and bbox
Please vote now for your preference, first answer can only be accepted !
p.s. options (2) & (3) are decat completely !

3)is my choice.
But keep the old cat's for MOT time.(just incase)
not sure if you need both cat's in or just one to pass MOT.
On the scooby sport page they say that if you keep the original d/pipe the car will still pass emissions. This is what I have done and wil find out if it is ok come dec when MOT due. If not I have kept old centre cat just incase.
Anybody else know what you can and can't get away with for MOT?

option 3, and then upgrade the sti bb to something better..
have p1 with ss dp with milltek centre and bb.. not too loud, as in blitz and hks, but alot better than std.
oops. forgot to add, make sure they fit the dp properly with the "O" ring in place, mine wasn't and had to be replaced (by dealer aswell)

Scorpion would be nowhere near the quality of the Hayward and Scott system.
Scorpion are pretty poor wuality for the money considering what is available. Best value is the Magnex IMHO. Superb quality at sensible prices.

ash,
it fits inbetween the ss dp and the centre pipe. On the std catted dp, there is a flange that the ring sits on and stays in place, but the ss dp i have doesn't have this, hence the ring it kept inplace with the to pipes holding together.
mine was leaking quite a bit of air, and hence lost power, but got it replaced at PE.
Also ask the dealer if they can fit the heatshield back, (will need trimming alittle for ss dp). And make sure they don't bugger up your lambada sensor (100 odd quid!)
mail me if u want.

Ash,
I have the complete Scorpion decat system on my P1. Despite some of the comments here Scorpion zorsts are one of the best around. (I am informed they also produced the Prodrive backbox)
Be careful with your combinations, they are not fully interchangable due to the fittings used. ie. Scorpion b/b will not fit standard mid section in my experience?
Also watch for differing diameters?
I would be interested to know the type of 'neck' on your Scorpion d/p? ie. open or closed?
Whichever you end up with it will sound superb!
Cheers
Steve.

Just a final closing comment...
I've had the SS fitted with Scorpion mid section. Must thank Beechdale Nottingham, the blokes there are top guys, dead friendly and done an excellent job.
They even changed my backbox under warranty as it sounded odd at 3-3500 revs with decat dp and centre.
I can't believe the difference. Lovely noise and so much smoother acceleration now.
Now when is my MOT ....
