Motol - Good oil.

I have used that and Silkolene (think that is correct spelling)10W40 which was tested in an issue of true grip.

They were basically testing different weights of oil and found if you go down from 15W50 to 5W40 you "CAN" gain upto 5 BHP!!

But I don't think I want to running 5W40 in winter though.

I got my Silkolene stuff from a rally spares place on the net(sorry do not remember who) but I am pretty sure you can get the Motol stuff from Demontweeks.

Hope this helps,

Nezz.

Just got gearbox oil from Scoobymania. They were OK with delivery to the Island.

You'll have to mail order the oil here. I've looked for suitable at a few places here now, with no sucess. I think 10w40 is the way to go, but not sure about the make - I'll need some in a couple of thousand miles, so I'll keep looking. (5W40 is WAY too thin - especially on cold winter mornings)

we use/recommend either 15w50 SILKOLENE or 10w60 MILLERS (both syntehtic) depending on use - also supplied MOTUL 15w50 to customer with good inital feedback.
definately wouldn't go as low as 5w40 on daily driver - too thin
if i can help you out further mail or phone me 0191-4103770

alyn - as performance
