Maybe I should leave working on my car to others...

John, in the mean time (before I read your post) did a quick DDD (Delta Dash Dab) to 5900 RPM ... erm... not good. I stopped it immediately.
It's not just a few points here & there, it's about < 1% CO from 1500 to 3000 RPM and about 3 to 5 % CO higher up. Gulp.
I'll mail you the log if you want to, but I bet it won't surprise you...
Maybe it's because of the MAF hanging upside down
Edit: wished all those BBS's used the same smilie system

Had the APS induction kit delivered yesterday (thanks for quick service Jamie) and decided to fit it today.
Apart from all the cursing, hurting myself whilst removing the bedpan (again ), being scared to death after hearing P20SPD's story about the jack giving up - thus putting about 2 tons of wood under the car ), I finally got it together & fitting (only took me 2,5 hours ) Very proud of myself, good job.
Start car ... give throttle ... bang... engine dies, check engine Throbbing ulcer ...
Go out of car again and remember to reconnect MAF sensor this time LOL
Will do some logging this afternoon.

Christ!
Theo, you scared the crap out of me with the "Start car ... give throttle ... bang... engine dies, check engine", sentence.
Glad you got it sorted in the end.
Looking forward to seeing the logs later.
Cheers,
Wrexy.

Sorry bout that
Logs will be interesting indeed.
Found out that there was something not quite right with the setup I replaced... long story, but in the intake pipe that goes under the manifold to the turbo, there normally is a brass ring to give that end the needed rigidity when you fasten the jubilee clip. I had to remove that ring with the Pipercross earlier this year (pipe goes in that end instead of over it). Then we put back on the original hose, but forgot to insert that ring again.
When removing it all, I saw that that pipe had collapsed a bit (by tightening the jubilee clip probably), thus probably sucking in false air (is that possible ?) after the MAF sensor. Remember I said my car was very lean when the Pace was fitted ? Could well be because of this.

One more thing ... is it normal that the MAF housing had to be turned about 90°, MAF connector pointing downwards ? It was the only way it would fit on the APS pipe.

Yup, MAF points downwards!
What were you doing playing about with the 'bedpan'? Or jack? You can just remove the plasticy bit between the wheelarch & bumper & lounge around on the floor for a while A bit fiddly, but takes less that half an hour that way

Nom, tut tut
I gave the short version, but it included not getting the wheel nuts off first, then being confronted again with the plastic clips I ruined last time using the wrong screwdriver, then not getting the bottom bolt for the resonator unbolted, then noticing the collapsed pipe, then trying to refit the brass ring (after looking for it for 15 minutes), then after cutting fingers taking it out again using the pipe that came with the Pipercross ...
A lip spoiler is nice, but doesn't make it easier to get to the inner wing
These things take time you know

I'll email the calibration later Theo. If you want some free advice please do not drive at any boost whatsoever until it is remapped. If you drive on a map already setup it will be way too lean and advanced. On a standard ECU APS say you can get away with it. I wouldn't agree.
