hi guys new to scoobynet there seems to be a lot of talk on the maf sensor, i dont want to sound dim, but what is the maf sensor and where is it, can it cause poor idle and slight power loss, as i have this problem, nothing picked up on dealer computer, i have a my00

MAF = Mass Air Flowmeter
This is located on the left of your engine bay on the air induction pipework. If the standard air filter is fitted, then follow the hose from the rear until you stumble across a black square looking item with some wires attached. This is the flowmeter.
The flowmeter governs the air/fuel mixture used by the ECU thus mapping the car to give optimum efficiency and performance. Should the MAF go belly up then this will affect the car in a big way. If I were you I'd get it checked out as these things are very expensive !!!!!
