Red face

Fitted the Scoobysport Backbox recently, I'm quite surprised at how quiet it is.

I was expecting it to be much louder than the Prodrive BB, but it's not that much louder.

Think I need to swap for a really loud one.

Have you changed the down pipe and centre ?

Down pipe will make a difference to sound AND performance

Don't really want to make too many changes yet, as I'm waiting for the PPP.

So how come a replacement downpipe makes such a difference then?

Cos the de-cat has no cat to cause an obstruction and therefore does not cause the 'silencer' effect

Had a ss bb fitted about 6 weeks ago, intially disapointed with how quiet it was(especially on tickover)however seems to have got a little louder now but afew more db would be nice.

Just 4 reference scoobysport make 4 types of exhaust

1.quiet exhaust(same noise level as std)
2.88 db bb
3.99 db bb
4.109 db bb (blow ur ****ing mind)

I only found this out after about 6 phone calls to them.It seems strange that a company that sells 4 different types of exhaust only advertises 1 of them.Personally i`m happy with the 1 i bought, but some people might want a louder sound, should be given the choice!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the "quiet" exhaust, and i can guarantee you it's not the same noise as standard!

It's pretty quiet on tickover, but full booting with a decat DP (standard centre) produces a nice noise.

Change the center section, and also the small cat after the down pipe, both mine and a friends STi7 have both got straight-thru centers with aftermarket backboxes and the sound is much better, the resonator in that section swallows up a lot of the scooby throb.

Dont do a full decat tho, not if you want to keep your warranty.

Warranty? what's that? non-existant on a 94 Legacy.

Decat centre has to be next.
