Will have been asked thousands of times before no doubt but is there a performance ecu for uk scoobies pre '99? I have done the full scoobysport exhaust but would like to do the engine management as well. I have a MY98. What options do I have?
Thanks for any advice given.

I was in the same situation as you, ie I have a 1998 uk car with full scooby sport exhaust.
I got my ecu remapped by power engineering at uxbridge.
They did a good job and were very helpfull.
I looked into a number of alternative chips available but decided to go for remapping as it is taylored to your car and all the Subaru in built safety features can be kept so reducing the risk of engine damage.
End result approx 270bhp and over 250Lbs of torque from just over 3000rpm to the red line.
Hope this is of some help.
Graham.

If this is the ECUTEK remap you are on about it's only for Phase2 type cars at the moment, so I guess your MY98 must be a very late 98 model that is infact more commonly known as a MY99 spec
If your MY98 is the revised front end (clear headlights) and dash then you'll be good for a ECUTEK, if not I think they are still working on the earlier types ECU's.
Off the shelf option would be a PPP or a Link type affair.
Hope this helps.

You can remap 92 - 96 Which I, and others can Supply you with.. (a lot less than anyone else) PowerEngineering Can do 92 - 96 and 98-99 and ecutek 00 +
We may be able to do 98 soon though.

Ok so the bottom line here is I need to speak to Power Engineering first and if I don't do anything for a while then to check with you David to see if you then do the 98 model.
I appreciate the advice folks.
So apart from the full exhaust system and remapping/chipping the engine what else can be done to increase torque and bhp upto the magical 300 figure as from what has been said so far the remap may push it to a max of about 270 bhp etc? Excluding the extremely expensive option of replacing the turbo obviously as I don't have the resources moneywise a lot of people on here seem to have.
