Oil Consumption Help !
#1
Am using 3/4 litre per 1500 miles ! ( Shell Helix Plus ), 49K miles, only mods are WR Sport BB and PE centre. Had piston 2 and 4 replaced under warranty @ 39K plus turbo. Extended warrany has 1 year left to run, going for 4 year service shortly. Never thrashed when cold and always idled before turning off. Any thoughts please ? What can I tell the dealer ?

Just tell the dealer your using excessive oil, if you cannot see any leaks on the car anywhere then i think its either getting into something it shouldnt (ie the water) or you have leaking turbo seals which will give you a bit of smoke.
Get someone to follow you and when you have warmed your scoob up give it a bit of welly though the gears and see if the car behind you sees you getting excess smoke out of the exhaust.

My STI4 is on 65K miles now.
I always check the oil before a long run and every 3-4 journeys if they are just regular runs.
I have never had to add any oil, not even a little top up.
I thought as the car got over 50K miles I might start to use some, but nope.
Quite impressive for a motor that gets well used and has dynoed at 348bhp.

My car uses no oil (MY00 PPP'd turbo) but when they did your rebuild and replaced no2 and no4 piston is this when you noticed more of a loss of oil?
It could be something they did then?
