Hi all just wanted to report that my JDM STi-7 took 4.9 litres of oil. I just did the oil and oil filter change on Saturday, I checked the oil level after putting in only 4.5 litres and it was just above the low mark, put in 4.9 litres and it was exactly on the full mark !

Quick question: I had the new crush washer to put on the drain plug; however, I could not get teh old one off, it was almost 'painted' on to the crush washer. This is my 2nd oil and filter change (1st one was at 1,000 miles) and I did not change the washer either. I have had no leaks; however, I want to change the washer for sure next time but not sure if the washer is stuck on there or if the drain plug only looks like there is a washer on there but infact there is no washer on there and that is just the way the drain plug looks ? Advise please

Cheers,
Ray

The washer does come off and not stuck on.Your oil should have only been 4.5 ltrs and no more. With this the level is up to the"f" mark and not to the notch, the notch is met when the oil has expanded when warm.Too much oil can be as bad as too little.

Hi,

Thanks for input; however, the oil level was at the "F" level and not the notch when we checked the level.

There seems to still be a discrepency as to what amount of oil to put in the new STi-7's. Is it 4.5 or 5 litres ?

All DIY oil changers please post. (Remember to say if just oil or oil and oil filter was changed as the oil filter can hold 1/2 litre itself)

Cheers,
Ray

It does seem to vary (and that comes from the people who know what they're talking about too ) from car to car. The dipstick is right, the 4.5(or 5)l container is wrong
