The the connector/lead that came with the fuel pump has bare wire ends and a plug at other end that plugs into the fuel pump. what I did was to splice it onto the connector at the top.

flux was to clean the slightly oxidised wire that was revealed when I stripped the original wire

Question

Pavlo,

am I correct from thinking from the pics that you used the original filter? It certainly reduced the surge problems on mine - other than that an excellent pump.

Mine was the same Pavlo, but no bare wires. Maybe there were a few different versions? Mine also stopped surging with the original pickup.

the bare wires were on the plug supplied with the pump. The factory pump in my case has 2 screw tabs, and the wires are fitted with ring terminals, as seen in one of the pictures.

the original pickup/filter was fitted based on Mark's advice, which I assume was based on Trout's experience.
