Question

Am thinking of putting a Scoobysport Up Pipe onto my MY99 STI-V, has anyone done this and was it worth it?

Is the SS Up pipe that much better than standard?

Is the difference noticeable, bearing in mind I have SS D/P and HKS Super Dragger, car is also linked, am having the car re-mapped shortly anyway.

I was looking for one a while ago, No one had any in stock, might be interesting to see if they do now, as everyone I tried claimed they would get them next week. Graham Goode Racing advertise them too, but at a fraction of the cost of Scoobysports

LOL at Stevie.

I'm very tempted to make a cheap one and then LMAO when you post your trials and tribulations of trying to fit it

Basically, it takes almost an hour to tap the stud holes on the top, but we do this as it is sooooo much easier to fit with studs, as opposed to using nuts and bolts. Hence, our up pipe is more expensive than some.

Sorry - that sounds as though I'm not being very helpful as I haven't commented on the SS up-pipe when I have one
The thing is, I changed the up-pipe at the same time as the manifold, so don't really have any comments I can make on what effect the up-pipe had on the overall change.

Thumbs up

I fitted the SS uppipe at the same time as some turbo mods, the overall effect was a considerable increase in power and a wider power band
Fitted a treat, have run 1.7 bar boost drag racing and it didn't break/blow/bend/rust/melt/crack.......just the job IMHO

nearly an hour to tap 3 holes?

sounds like H&S need to find someone that works with plenty O stainless. I know it's a pain, but it should take 10 minutes at most with a good tapping head on big pillar drill.

If the laser cutting produces very hard holes, might be worth seeing if they can be water jet cut.

Pete,

What are the benefits in changing the up pipe to one of yours?
