Induction kits, again.....

Okay, I know that most people seem to think that a ITG panel is good enough performance wise, and that induction kits are nasty.
However, a different "most people" think that induction kits are worthwhile etc.
I'm now at the stage where i am convinced the airbox is pants, if only for the small hole for air to get in, and the tight corner the air has to go through to get to the MAF sensor.
There has got to be a better way, I am so very tempted to get a K&N filter, and make a little ducting, but is it really worth it? Stephen Done got good results from his mods (but doesn't he always!), people are trying to do front entry turbo mods left right and centre, so pre turbo induction must be worth looking at.
I should probably just spend the money on a new fuel pump anyway, and add some holeage to the airbox.

I have the APS cold air induction kit on mine. Apart from a remap which is needed, (EcuTek, Tek 3), to make it safer, due to it causing the MAF to under read and causing a leaner than normal mixture, it is a top piece of kit which I believe helps in reducing intake temps.
John,
Can't wait m8!

Sounds good enought to me. I was going to put in a regulat induction kit, replace the resonator with an air feed and add some shrouding to prevent heating.
Still need that pump though....

Paul,
I did this less than a month ago:
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=114950
Although as yet I have not got any sheilding in place. Its a standard K&N 57i kit with a bit of DIY ducting.......
No power figures as I've had the ECU done as well, although when I fitted the induction it seemed to pull much stronger and easier to the red line..........
I've got no complaints so far!
Cheers
Neil

Yeah - each mod made it pull a little stronger to the red line
Its hard to explain but you know what I mean
No monster thats for sure but I think its pretty quick for just a standardish car (eg decat, 57i and Samco Hoses).
