Sti 5 heads won't fit on your legacy

Sti 1 & 2 definitely will, 3& 4 possibly.

wrx/Sti 1,2,3 or 4 pistons will be needed to match compression of head.

You may as well get some injectors while you're at it.

Confirm Sti5/6 std compression is 8:1 as nearly all others except Wagons which can be 8.5:1 dependant on spec.

bugger, 8.0 : 1 it is then.

tell you what it is, i want some cosworth pistons, but they only make them for imprezas, but they are more dished than the legacy ones and will drop the cr.

any ideas anyone

thanks for the replies

Fit impreza heads, £120+vat each from midland impreza

Or get unmachined ones, which you should be able to alter to suit your application.

Edited to add: I think Stevie_Turbo discovered that impreza pistons with legacy heads gives higher compression than standard. OOPS that should be lower than standard.

Legacy heads are higher volume than imp, pistons lower volume than imp.

hi paul, that price is good eh!

the legacy pistons are flatter, whereas the impreza ones are dished. stevie fitted some impreza heads a while back, and as a result, it detted about 4000rpm

the piston hunt is on

BTW some Imprezas are 9.0:1 compression apparently (220ps JDM early WRX models).

Thanks
