I've just bought one and been sent a recirc one by mistake. Right if I fit it can I expect the dump valve noise that you get with a vent to atmos one ? It's a forge one

Where do I fit the blooming thing ? Pictures would be nice

Cheers in advance, Phill C

Nope you wont get a noise if its a re-circ one, that is what Subaru Fitted as standard.

IIRC it is fitted on the passenger side of the engine near the intercooler, but i could be wrong.

Hey Phill, here's a picture of a GGR Vent to Atmos dump valve. Dave at Tileys fitted it so no technical questions please!

Jerome and IanW,

Exchanged it for a vent to atmos and hello, sounds lush. The forge one bolts directly to the intercooler like the stock one did. I'm not normally into DIY, but looked real easy.

Fair play to Jamie for changing it, even though I think it was my error

Jerone, you pleased with the ECU ?

Phil, don't you ever listen to Evilbevil's advice on BOV's? Or could you not resist the sound?

Phil

Theo said NOOOOOOO! Basically not much gain if any at all, but a good chance of trouble.

If you must then choose wisely.

Oh and my car is fine (touch wood) and it's looking very tarty with my clear indicators and mesh wedges...

I wasn't looking for any power gains, just wanted the noise!!!

So far idle cold and warm tick over appears to be fine. Got a Forge vent to atmos one

Hi Phill,

ECU is ok in that it still hesitates nearly as bad as the AE802 especially when cold. The real difference is that this one hold the high revs and when I change gear there is no more "brick wall" stopping effect. She just carries on. Shame about the hesitation though.

Can this one be exchanged for an ECUTEK2 do you know?

Cheers

Jerome,

When you mean exchanged I guess you mean can a TEK2 be programmed onto it. Answer is yes, I'm just in the process of getting one myself. I'll let you try it if you like ?? Have to be quick about it though, as the TEK2 is an interim measure until I get a custom TEK3

My PPP ECU hesitates a little while cold, but disappears after the car is warmed up. You don't want to boot it when cold You can have the PPP ECU for £600 ??

Thanks for the offer Phill, I'm sure the ECUTEK 2 is worth the money but I wanted to keep my original AE802 ECU to put the car back to standard when I sell it. I believe when you order the ECUTEK 2 you have to return your ECU to ECUTEK as an exchange so I was hoping to trade in the AE801 at the time.

£600 for your PPP ECU is a tempting offer but no thanks, I'm holding out for the ECUTEK and your review of the ECUTEK 3 before spending that kind of money again!

Cheers
