Default GC8 front wheel bearings

Hey all,
I had fitted 2 front wheel bearings
One side is fine, solid hub in the bearing, good movement, lovely.
The other side though, the inner race has some in and out movement, i can pull and push the hub in and out a couple of mm, if you look on the inside of the hub you can see the inner race move back n forth ( in and out )
Once the driveshaft is installed tho the movement stops.

Has the bearing been damaged when installed ?

Its the newer style, solid one piece bearing that was pressed in

cheers

You may not of pressed the inner flange in far enough if I'm reading you right. When you tighten the nut up on the drive it should pull it into place. Then slacken it again and see has your movement gone. Did your old bearing seize and spin on the inner race.

hi bud

I never fitted them my mate did at his work ( done loads he said lol )

the hub measures the same distance from the knuckle if I compare points on the other side to measure

it’s just the inner race the hub pushes into moves back n forth a little bit

ive mock tightened a driveshaft on the bench in the garage and when tightened no movement but if I remove driveshaft movement Is still there ( although I’ve not torqued the hub but just loosely tightened it

weird and I’m just wary of fitting the whole thing to car if it indeed faulty

Give it a good tighten in the vice and see does it go away.
