Default Saloon driveshafts on Wagon

Any issues with fitting saloon driveshafts in place of Wagon ones? 05 WRX - saloon driveshafts are ~9mm longer. Someone asked on a old thread but didn't get an answer. But searching other threads people start taking about using STi driveshafts which seems odd as they are 32mm shorter.

I really don't know why Subaru went to the effort of running slight different tracks between saloon and wagons - there must have been a huge cost associated with making 2 different suspension/drivetrain components...

from memory the wagon shafts are basically the same as the late 99/00 classics..........
in general -9mm difference won't harm much as your simply losing a small amount of plunge compared to std

you never mentioned age difference........
simply buy 01-04 shafts which are female ended as will fit your presumed earlier car or buy a set of 99/00 classic shafts

I have a later 05 Wagon with the male input shafts. So much smaller pool of secondhand parts, hence looking to use saloon ones. Sounds like saloon ones will work fine.
