Im looking at buying a 2004 impreza sti widetrack and 5th gear crunchies when selecting at high rpm.

Has anyone had this issue and approx cost to fix please?

Experiencing something similar, my 4th gear crunches at high RPM was wondering are ppl putting in stronger gear sets, or Carbon coated synchro rings What do people Think. my box is ty856 of 15 plate. Or just buy 2nd hand box and upgrade then swap them as and when.

So decided to leave the Car in with mark at TDR today as I was concerned that I may well be doing more damage in 4th gear driving about than I think, decided to see if I can catch it early the damage might not be as bad, also having few suspension mods done and mark will assess weather I should change clutch or not. Il let u all no his findings, I think synchro but iam aggressive with gear change so might have bent selector Fork.
