Unhappy

Right I have been running an SS DP and centre with a magnex BB, and a K&N Induction kit for over 9 months and have had no problems.

However last week was driving down the motorway, went to overtake dropped down to 4th and accelerated hard. The car accelerated but then suddenly cut and then re-accelerated again and kept doing this until I lifted off the pedal. So I am assuming over boost as it also happens in 5th and occasionaly in 2nd and 3rd......

Have re-set the ECU but still their....am I off to a dealership or does anyone have any thoughts on how to get rid of this??????

Thanks in advance

Dunk

I had this problem up until last week. I fitted a Milltek centre section and it really messed up the boost control. The turbo spins up so quick that the standard control valve just cant cope. If I accelerate hard in top it pesaks at around 1.0bar but holds 0.9. If I floor it in 3rd or 4th, back-off and floor it again (or change gear quickly at high rpm) the boost wacks over to 1.2 bar and it cuts. I fitted a larger restrictor (1.3mm) and it has stopped it but it only holds 0.8 bar now. I fitted a dawes type valve witha bleed and it has virtually done the trick. Will hold 1.1 bar and peaks about 1.15.

If you've changed nothing then you could clean the Boost Control Solenoid and pipework as these can oil up and cause overboost.

Spray some brake cleaner in them and go for a drive, this often cures this problem.

Follow the hose from the turbo nipple, it should come to a t-joint. Follow this, it should come to the solenoid. Clean the solenoid and these pipes also (including the other one from the t-joint that goes to the Wastegate).

Solved a similar problem by cleaning the hoses and adjusting the length and positioning of restrictor.

Was peaking at 1.2 which caused OB, afterwards down to 1.1 and holding.

Better make sure the restrictor is not restricted either.
