Some of the TMIC upgrades I have seen are as expensive as FMIC. Anyone any experience of more reasonable ones? TMIC is easy to fit, no bumper cutting, no protruding bits under the bumper to hit, and no long hose runs with the intake manifold being the "wrong way round" for it as standard and the turbo not in an ideal position.

I may be selling mine if you are patient - it is a monster - MRT - my car achieved 346bhp on the rollers with it and ran clean as a whistle - no det - which is some acheivement for a top mount on a restricted airflow dyno

It will be a very good price. If you have a MY99 onwards you will need an external dump valve as the IC was originally from a MY98 car.

Email me at rannoch1@hotmail.com for price and more info.

Ask Johnny Gav about his TMIC conversion using an STI IV IC. I might do the same as him if it goes okay.

John,

it will work fine with the MY98 DV - even better with a shimmed Forge for that special chirrupping!

So this intercooler is not angled like the early models then? All brackets the same etc apart from the DV?

Question

Trout, I have a Forge re-circ and an upgrade kit from forge which included a RED spring, 5 shims, a rubber seal, 6 allen screws and some grease!
How should I apply these to achieve the desired affect???
Would you even consider doing so with a VF23 running circa. 1.3-1.4bar???

Sorry to Hi-jack John.

Jacko.

Question

Wasn't it the 98 DV's which had some "Milk Bottle Whistle" issues?

Normski,

I run my Forge with a VF23 - it is running boost in at least the range you describe

You open the DV - put a couple of shims in the piston - replace the spring - do it up and chirping you shall go!
