Increase in fd ratio for acceleration
Hello all,
I have a bugeye impreza with a reasonable amount of mods on it with regards to the handling and braking. I'd like to change the gearbox and diff to a shorter ratio one for increased acceleration at the expense of top end.
Am I correct in thinking that a my01 bugeye has a final drive of 3.54? Or something very close to that.
Would I be right in thinking if I changed the gearbox to a p1 gearbox which is also a ty54 gearbox but with a final drive of 4.44 I would achieve better acceleration?
Any thoughts or hurdles I've missed please post!
Thanks
