Question Up-pipe Change -

Had a chat with Scoobyclinic, who have given me a resonable price for having the Up-pipe change...£20 per hour for labour...There crazy, and should consider moving closer south

But there also 170miles away from me

So....i was if failing another trip up north thinking of Xtreme Scoobies....anyone know how much there Labour charge is...?

Sam

Not sure on what XS's rate is, but when I spoke to Knowlsey about this, he was actually trying to put me off doing it. Once you factor in the cost of the parts and the time required to remove the uppipe, it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, unless you were chaging the downpipe at the same time. Given that the actual BHP gain by changing the uppipe is only about 6 bhp, it seems even less attractive.

I think the later model STi's don't even have a cat in the uppipe, but Knowlsey said he had still had several people ask him to fit replacement uppipes!

Personally I think you'd be better off spending the 2-300 quid it will cost you on a decent driver training day - you'll get a lot more out of your car!

Chris,

All other Mods are already done to the car, including a Blitz Nurspec + De-cat down pipe.

My Up-pipe is blowing, hence the TD05 is not spooling up till 4000rpm…

A H & S down-pipe is looking to cost £120+VAT + £40 - £80 fitting from ScoobyClinic…

Not sure what you mean by spending £2-300 quid on a decent driver training day…I have now spent close to £4K on Mods for my Car…though never been on a track…

Fair enough Sam - all the same speak to Knowlsey and see what he recommends. Then take your car on track with some decent tuition - it's worth a couple of seconds a lap!

Hi Sam,definetly worth wrapping your up pipe, otherwise it will very quickly cremate your R.H. rocker gasket.
Cheers .

Okay...

XtemeScoobies doing me the Uppipe for £115+ Vat....

Fitting they can do on a Weekday, but at the moment its really hard getting time off, can do the weekend after next but that’s little too late

ScoobyClinic can do, but again little to far as i cant get that much time off from work...

Gossy: Busy till the weekend after next, again too late
Tweenierob: Difficult to get hold of... though is local to me...

There must be someone local to me who can fit this for me...

Not to worry...just got back from Xtremescoobies....had a £300 bill including gaskits and bolts...Top job though, with time taken...

think i will have to put the front mount on hold...

Is my Original Uppipe any good for selling? Apparantly it was my gaskits that had gone and there is nothing wrong with the Uppipe...
