all depends where you go

xtreme scoobies wanted £250 just for the belt

Scooby sport wanted £380, but this is a 45,000 mile service, where the timing belt, drive belts, oil and oil filter is changed. (using all original subaru parts)

The timing belt alone is around the £120 from subaru

I took my scoob (MY '96) to scooby sport, Pete Croney and his team are really good.
I've spoke/emailed to Pete and he's always on hand to give advice, if he can't do a job, he'll recommend someone who can, for instance I'm considering an LPG conversion on my car as I work for calor gas, and have been given a contact to try.

I had my 45K done at SS - included cambelt - did a fine job.

Then 2 months latter I swapped it in a moment of weekness / madness for MY52...

Cornelius you may want to edit your post as the information is certainly not factual

Cambelt £120 ish plus vat & fitting £67.50 plus vat (though I do have to advise customers they may or may not need a cambelt tensioner roughly £110 plus vat)

xtreme scoobies wanted £250 just for the belt

I paid 340 at Prosport in Stockport for Cambelt change (it was outside the service schedule, and the 37500 service, and I had a green filter fitted too

Basically the Cambelt was 105.87 + VAT, and labour 59.25 +VAT

1.5 hours work (my rad had to come out, due to bolts seized on the fans)

I do apologise Knowlesy (xtreme scoobies), just reread the post, and I didn't mean that in the way it was worded,
what I meant was that I was quoted £250 just to change the timing belt,
