Id there a date when the VFD version of the SECS will be available. I currently have a blitz Power Meter id in the original Subaru Carbon hood and really want a SECS, as it is much more useful information, but don't really like the "bland" display of the current SECS.

I've spoken with Simon and PSI3 this morn and yes, VFD is coming very shortly.

We should have a VFD unit fitted in our WRX03 early next week, and hopefully will have stock of the new displays the week after.

It shouldn't be difficult to change - noritake make units that could replace the existing LCDs on a pin-for-pin compatible basis.

Cheers,
Nick.

Indeed they do Nick They are pin for pin but the VFD assembly is longer than a LCD equivilent so meant a change to our main PCB, Just waiting for stock to arrive.

Cool

Danny,
Try giving Simon a call, details are on his website. www.psi3.co.uk.
I got my new VFD version fitted at the weekend. The display is a lot clearer than previous version, although there is a cost increase over standard model. I opted for a single din version with the blue diplay and silver surround which matches very nice with me Alpine headunit. Don't have any pics at the moment but I could try and sort something out.

Cool

Sorry chaps but dont have a digital camera so need to try and borrow one over the weekend. The display looks a similar size to previous version, but wouldn't like to say for sure. If it is bigger then its only mm difference. PSI3 still offer different coloured surrounds black/silver of your choice to match your dash. This version has same features although the software has been updated to include a clock. One feature that is lost is the ability to change the contrast but as the display is clearer thats not a problem. For people with the early type of PPP ie. boost clamp the software now has the option to read boost from the ECU or an external sensor.

I was hoping for a big funky display.

Looks very similar to the old unit.

If it is a VFD, then the difference is stunning. Your DVD player, video etc will be VFD... Brighter, and legible even in sunlight.
