Can anyone who lives near this company please tell me if there are still trading?

CROSSROAD GARAGE
UNIT 3 AND 7
LONDON ROAD
RAKE
LISS
HAMPSHIRE
ENGLAND

I have on the 3 occasions I have managed to get someone to answer the phone been promised a refund for the tyres I ordered in May, But I am still waiting and all recent attempts to contact them have failed.

My Credid card company say they cant get me a refund unless I can get proof from the company I am entitled to one, Any ideas?

Thanks Anthony

Steve
Dont make a special trip but if you are passing it would be really helpful to know if they are open and what times they do open. It seems the only way I am going to solve this problem is face to face.

Many Thanks

Are you waiting for a refund because you never received the tyres? If that is the case then you don't need proof that you are entitled to a refund. You paid for goods and never received them.

I've got my credit card company working on it as well and yours need to sort this out as its now their responsibility.

My credit card company sent me a form to fill in confirming that I had not received the goods or had any form of paperwork and are now dealing with it. The amount is supposed to be refunded to my account but I won't know this until next month.

Thats exactly it, My CC company(Barclaycard) say I must have some paperwork to say I am entitled to a refund,I explained it was all done over the telephone and ended up getting a little annoyed and ask them where the paperwork was that I signed to agree the transaction in the frst place and there reply was "well as soon as you give your card no and three digit security code thats as good as signing" even over the phone.

I am going to pursue this till the end.

Thanks again and any information or ideas about this company greatly received.

Well i went down to Crossroad Garage this morning at 10.00am,Yes they were open.BUT if first impressions are any thing to go by then i wouldn't have any dealings with them!!
They are a small unit tucked away in a corner and appeared to be blocked in with 'junk'...didn't see any scoobies and the access road is a joke, you need a landrover to get there due to the large pot holes.
IF you intend to go down there then leave your car near the main road and walk!!

These are my opinions on what i saw!! i cannot comment on their workmanship or sales side.

Lloyds credit card refunded me no probs - just had to fill a form in & wait 6 weeks or so - can't understand Barclaycard's problem - u paid & rec'd nothing - same as me. I would hassle them more - there must be some misunderstanding !

Crossroads Huh !!!

They bounced us for a bit over 2 grand in January for an engine and the bailiffs went in last week [again] and were given a rubber cheque for 2 grand plus costs.

If the bailiffs can't get my money, they're going to start seizing goods - I HOPE

Watch out for this lot !!

Good luck David,
cos when I went and got my tyres, (one of the very few) there wasn't anything there worth that much!, except maybe the ramp, and that wasn't new by any means, a very small workshop, with just one ramp, and a tyre changing machine! Nowt else!

I give up with this company, going to put it back to the CC. I have faxed, written and phoned(everyday)leaving a message and they are just ignoring me.

Last time I order from a company I hear about on the internet.

Thanks for the help and information supplied.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is

Sadly the internet is full of criminals which exploit honest peoples natural tendancy to crave for a bargain. At the end of the day, why would anyone sell a large quantity of tyres for a lot less than they could sell a large quantity of tyres?

Spoke to my solicitors Wednesday [ yesterday ] looks like I'm gonna have to apply to have him declared bankrupt to get any justice, although he appears to trade in his wifes name, no matter, someones going to pay up. Watch this space.

David, fyi DAvid Hunt is already bankrupt (bailif told me that)

you will need to apply for a winding up order on the company (can be done for any debt over 750, but your order must be on the company not the individual

He does everything through his girlfriend for this reason (a warren)

I must have been one of the lucky ones then, I got my tyres, mind you, I did go and get them, and pay cash! He told me his godfather was the Chairman of Goodyear uk, hence the deal!!

Rich Tee,

The dishonoured cheques to me AND the bailiffs are Mrs D J Hunt trading as Crossroads garage. So I'm advised that we can bankrupt her [ as well as him if you're correct above]

Winding up can be dangerous because apparently if it can be proven [ eventually ] that the company was viable and the winding up caused it to fail rather than any other cause the creditors can come after the winder upper for their liabilities. If I have understood the legalese correctly.
