Morning all.

I think this has been done before but I am interested. Im sure its pretty well documented on here but I took my STI8 with small tweaks on the rolling road at Power Station last friday and acheived 273BHP. I wasnt 100% happy with this figure but considering how hot it was in their I wasnt supprised that the figure wasnt what I expected. The torque and power curves were strong and up on the standard car.
Now I know I should be happy because my car feels quick and strong with it BUT I would like to know the following:-
Have any of you guys taken your STI8 with PPP to power station and what were the results? I only ask this as the comments I have had so far are that Power station figures are down on Power Engineering for instance by around 30BHP. Im not sure how this can be but would like to know if anyone has tested a PPP car or for that matter a standard car on the power station rollers.

Please note I was more than happy with the very professional service carried out by Dirk at power station. He also stated that his very expensive equipment was 100% correct as he tested many standard cars and the figures reflected this fact.

Not a gripe but im interested.

Gary,

Have a look in the Northern section for the latest Well Lane rolling road results. I'm there was an STi8 with PPP which did over 300bhp.

This debate has been going on for years and I don't think it will ever be resolved. Powerstation are known for reading low compared to other RR's. For example, PE have often been accused of over reading on their but in the last couple of years, at every RR day I've been to, standard cars have got bang on standard figures so make of that what you will.....

Gary add 10% to your figures to get comparable PE figures (yes, really).

Oh, that's 300.3 BHP! Happy now!

Gary,
My STi7 PPP did 287bhp 245lbs Torque @ 61mph 4570rpm drag 82.5 lbs max power 99mph 7390rpm at Power station.

As far as I am aware classics and MY02/03STi's are all tested in 4th gear. Yet the Sti's have six speed box our 5th is equal to 4th.

Why I say this full booost is only normally achieved in 5th/6th or classic 4th/5th IIRC

Had loads of my STI8's on the rollers and they are usally 10bhp+/- from what was expected Differences between Subarus do seem to be higher than other makes, my Hondas are usally exactly the same.

Thumbs up

Gary,
i've had my STI7 PPP on the rollers at PS and it's well known that the rollers produce conservative figures, mine showed 281bhp, the same car and set up showed 320bhp on a different rolling road on a warmer day. Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Don't worry about numbers just enjoy the car!!!

Rich, Curtis and the boys at PS know what they are doing, which is why so many manufacturers use them

i had my 99 turbo without centre cat. 248bhp at ps so if its 30% out that makes a standard turbo better than an sti???. from my results I recon ps are spot on.

RR are a bit of fun only. results are only slightly comparable on the day with the others that run. LOL at measurement against Prodrive results and subaru

Looks like once again I have opened a can of worms without meaning to .....lol

Anyway to end the saga, thanks to all those of you who have put a comment on here. I did not in any way wish to have offended anyone or make anyone think that their equipment is right and others are wrong etc etc.
Dirk at Power station provided an excellent service for me and for that i am gratefull.

My last comment is that on Friday I took my car back to the supplying dealer for a little black scoobysport box to be fitted. The head technician guy had a test drive in my car and said ''she is lovely, much better than the standard STI and every bit as good as the 300 horse Jap imports we sell''.
That will do for me.
