Cost of 37.5K Service
#7
Hi Simon, That time of year already! The 37.5K is basically an oil change like the 7.5K and 22.5K. I think i paid about £100 at the main dealers. If you dig through the paperwork you should have the invoice from last years to give you an idea.

Hiya Paul. Well its not until mid march but I thought I would check. I will buy some decent fully synth Silkolene oil and take that.
Have u got another car yet? Ive done a fair few miles in the Scoob. Shes just knocking on 11k (5k when I bought her off u). Have done a few mods. Some ****** dented the boot whilst it was parked and Ive only just had that replaced under insurance. heres some recent pics:

Was gonna fit a Forge VTA dump valve but decided to sell it as needed the cash. Will look for one later in the year.

Just had the 67.5k service which is the same schedule I think, in which case just cost me ~£120 at Oakley Subaru
BUt start bracing yourself for the next couple.
45k is cambelts approaching £450, then 53.5k is minor ish then 60k is the biggest at ~£500.
I nearly fell over when I opened the bill for the 60k service. . .

Lol £120 sounds good to me after £450 for the 30k'er.
Paul I checked all your service bills. £160 was the highest and that was with some additional work on top. You made the right choice to get rid if you werent using it that much.

Simon that was my thoughts exactly. As scratch says the 45K and 60K or 3 and 4 years in your case are biggies. Could get it serviced by an independent scooby specialist when the 3 year warranty is over probably save a bit.

Tell me about it. Not sure if I will extend the Subaru Warranty or not at the end of 3 years. On the one hand it means my car is covered against major mechanical failure etc but Im also still tied to overpriced Subaru servicing.

Had my 37.5k done at a dealer's yesterday and it cost £116 with SIDC discount, including a little bit for a knackered bulb and fixing an annoying noide from the exhaust mountings.

My 37.5K is due in Feb.
And as usual down this neck of the woods it's Asburton Motorworks that comes out on top by a mile.
Ashburton Motorworks = £80
Haxby's of Plymouth = £146
Both Subaru Dealers, and Ashburton have been in the Subaru game a long time, guess where I'll be going again
When I had my 30K service, Haxby's wanted £150 more than Ashburton
Ashburton every time.

Hmm might be worth bearing in mind as I will be down there start of Feb visiting the parents in Bude. Could go down Plymouth for the day shopping and drop the car off.
Then again service isnt due til start of march hmmmm.
Is that price with your own oil provided or everything all in?

Then again its another 15 miles out of plymouth from Bude. Think I will just ring around all the local Cambridge dealers and see who is cheapest.

Called Welch's in Cambridge. Standard cost is £118 less £24 for bringing my own oil (which will cost around £21).
Also rang Oakleys in Bedford and Donalds in Peterborough but they will call me back. Oakleys enquired as to what oil I would be bringing saying they always use Shell Helix.

Hi Simon,
That was all in, they use Shell Helix I think.
For the 37.5K service I had a curtosey car at no extra charge as Ashburton is about 15-20 mins from Plymouth on A38.
At those prices I don't mind taking it there even after the warranty runs out
