My car (my00 Standard alarm) has developed a strange phenomenon, When I unlock it, it decides that it doesn't want to be open and promptly locks itself again, but, it doesn't reset the alarm, it is possible to open the door while it's unlocked for the few seconds but you have to be quick!
I've taken it to the dealers who fitted a new central locking solenoid, but that didn't cure the problem, I was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar situation, and what the fix was?

we have had a couple do this and found the wiring loom to be faulty. it had somehow got contaminated with water and made the connections in the plug go rusty we changed the door loom and actuator/ lock assemblt and this seemed to work.
