MONTY'S OF SHEFFIELD 10 out of 10 !!!
#1
Just had my Euro-import 02 WRX 7500mile service at Monty’s of Sheffield.
They were extremely accommodating and helpful and have done a first class job as well as cleaning the car inside and out !.
Heard a number of reports that some dealers have a poor attitude to imports but this was a refreshing change.
They also supplied courtesy car for the day (O.K. so it was a justy !)
(Oil was Castrol 10W/60 synthetic and total cost £114 inclusive)
Just thought I needed to give credit where its due,
Graham

Hi Graham - I'd second that one - Paul is always really helpful. Sorted out a warranty issue for my MY02 wagon without question. Only downside was that I got the Justy too.....
Interesting comment about the oil. Did Montys recommend the Castrol 10W/60 synthetic?

Hi Harryboy,
Regarding the oil, I enquired with Monty's which oil they would be using following some reservations i had heard on the net over the past few months . They quoted the Castrol RS 10W/60 Fully Synthetic which i checked out and was convinced was more than adequate.
Out of interest, which oil do you use ?

Hi Graham Mate,
My 1000 miler was done at Goldens in Hudds. They used GTX Magnatec, but I'm off to Monty's for some of their RS synth in the next few weeks.

Had my first service there, couldn't find fault with 'em except they washed the car and it was spotlessly clean to start with
Never mind, they had good intentions and the car was ready well within the estimated 1 hour they said it would take. Will be going back for the 10,000.

Have recently given these guys a 2nd chance and I'm glad I did...
A few months back I had my 1000mile service done by them and they used the wrong grade oil(0W30) but wouldnt admit it was wrong so I went elswhere and had some decent oil put in that same day...also found tyre pressures were wrong to!
So 1st impressions were not good.
However, always willing to give someone a 2nd chance I've just been there for my 7.5k service(euro import so still on old schedule)
They were able to do the service within 24hrs of me phoning and were happy to use the oil I supplied(silkolene Pro-S 10W 50)
They also checked and are sorting out sum minor warranty work no probs, they just need authority from IM 1st cos its an import.
They also fitted me a set of McGard locking wheel nuts.
Total cost £65 and a few pence which I thought was good.
I found out later on checking my recipt that they hadnt charged me the £15.75 for the wheel nuts, but as I paid for wrong oil on the 1st service I havent told them of their mistake!
I will happily continue using them in the future, which is something I didnt think I'd be saying after the 1st visit!
